Hello-
My fiancee and I are planning on going to Europe for our honeymoon next month. We were planning on spending 7 nights in Paris and 3 nights in Amsterdam. We are now considering stopping in Bruges on the way to Amsterdam and spending a night there. Do we people who have been to Bruges think this is a good idea? Are do you really need 3 days to have a good time in Amsterdam. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

We visited Amsterdam and Bruges last month and thoroughly enjoyed both. We spent 6 days in Amsterdam and could have definitely stayed longer. Given that you only have 3 nights planned currently for Amsterdam, you%26#39;ve only really got 2 days there to begin with - I don%26#39;t think you really have enough time to take a night and stay in Bruges. Maybe if you took a night from Paris, it would be doable, but I wouldn%26#39;t shorten your time in Amsterdam.

That is exactly the sort of analysis I was looking for. Thank you very much for your help!

Brugge is a lovely place to spend the night but as the previous poster said if you want to do this then take a day from your Paris schedule.

With only a week to try to tour - we settled on Bruges, southern Belgium and Rhine area of Germany and will explore Amsterdam and the Netherlands on another, separate trip....there is so much to see in Amsterdam and the surrounding area that I did not want to %26quot;run%26quot; through it...I would take a day from your Paris week and enjoy Amsterdam for extra day! Congratulations on your wedding!
