From airport to downtown, how long and how?

How is the best and easiest way to get from the airport to downtown? How long does it take?

We arrive in the late afternoon and have to get back to the airport at lunchtime the day after-is it worth it to get into town for one night?

It takes only 20 minutes by train from below the airport to Gare du Nord, Gare Centrale or Gare du Midi (2 minutes between each of these), cost €3.

Gare centrale is the most centrally located and is only 5 minutes walk from the Grand%26#39; Place. There are numerous hotels around there e.g. Novotel %26quot;Off Grand%26#39; Place, or you could stay at the one hotel at the airport itself, which is the Airport Sheraton. If you stay at any other of the %26quot;airport%26quot; hotels, you would have to use their shuttle to get to and from the airport to be able to use the train into town.
