Our trip to Bruges next Jan was motivated by the movie, In Bruges. I have to say that before the movie, I had never heard of Bruges (long way from Australia) and didn%26#39;t know too much about Belgium either...well except for the spring classic bike races and our %26quot;Belgian aussie%26quot;, Robbie McEwan.

We are spending Xmas in London with my wife%26#39;s sister and the new year in Belfast with my relatives before heading to Europe for a 2.5 week tour. We had been wondering where we could start our journey and then watched the movie....cool place and movie :-)) and voila, Bruges has become our launching place.

Funnily enough, we are meeting my wife%26#39;s parents from New Zealand will be meeting us there, as will my mum and my wife%26#39;s sister. So when the in laws dropped by a few weeks back, we hastily set up a movie matinee and they got the same introduction to Bruges and also loved the movie.

Can%26#39;t wait to get over there and cruise around some of the places we have seen in early January.
