Hi everyone.
Sorry I know there are a lot of posts about airport connections %26amp; I may repeat some aspects here, but I can%26#39;t find what I want to know.
I was wondering if Charleroi airport very big, how long will the bus transfer take (line a to the train station) %26amp; is it likely that after arriving off a 10.20 arrival flight with hand luggage only I will be able to get the 10.40 train or will I have to wait an hour for the next train?
Is taking the train the most cost effective / time saving way or is bus / taxi just as cheap / quick for 2 passengers.

No it;s not that big, about the size of Belfast international if you have ever been there althoug its a lot bigger than the old airport. I woul dthink the bus into town will take 20 minutes. There is no way you will make the 10:40 train. I would not imagine you would get there before 11am
Heres the bus timetable

You can buy a combined bus and rail ticket for 22 euros return at the airport. I think you will have to catch the 1050 into town and wait 30 mins for the train. You can always catch the bus to Brussels Midi and then a train to station Noord, Againthe info is on the link at the top of my post. That woul dbe the quickest way I think.

Note that the last paragraph of the above is talking about different buses!
1. The special price for public transport from CRL to any destination in Belgium is valid only on the local TEC bus (A or 68) to Charleroi-Sud and Belgian Railways train from there; it costs €11 single, so with this option that is all it costs all the way from CRL to Bruxelles-Nord. How long it takes for the whole journey depends on which train you manage to catch from Charleroi-Sud.
2/3. The shuttle bus from CRL to Bruxelles-Midi is not part of the public transport system and costs €13 single, €22 return. From Midi you would have to pay for another ticket to transfer to either Brussels city transport (underground tram 3 or 4 from metro level to Gare du Nord) or Belgian Railways train; cost €1.70 in either case. A taxi from Midi to Nord would cost less than €10. Consequently this option would cost €14.70 with tram or €23 with taxi. It would normally be faster than the bus/train combo but of course it depends which shuttle departure you catch (timetable is on airport%26#39;s website).
So while shuttle bus from CRL to Midi and taxi from Midi to Nord would most likely be faster than (local) bus from CRL to Charleroi-Sud plus train to Bruxelles-Nord, it does cost twice the price - but this is mostly due to the taxi; and you could also take a taxi from CRL to Charleroi-Sud, of course.

Bus and train combo ticket as mentioned above is the most cost effective option, bus pickup is just to your left at arrivals and drops you off at the rear of the station in Charleroi.
