lost passport on easyjet flight

Help

I left my passport on an easyjet flight from Berlin to Brussels in the pocket at the back of the seat. Stupid i do realise. However i am having trouble getting it back. I only realised that i had lost it once i had arrived at the hostel, so i tried to get hold of easyjet... no phone numbers available... so i rang the brussels airport and they said that it was unlikely that the pockets at the back are cleaned and i needed to get hold of easyjet. easier said than done. so i rang the one easyjet number the guy at the brussels airport could give me, a uk number, which wasted all my phone credit and only reached an answer phone which never rang me back...

so realising there was absolutely no way to get through to easyjet i went back to the airport, by which time the flight had already taken off, the lady at the airport said that nothing had been reported found (expected as the guy said they wouldn%26#39;t clean the pockets) but that the only way i could get it back would be to go to the easyjet lost and found and make a claim. however, the guy at the lost and found said i cannot make a claim as it was not checked in luggage and they take no responsiblity for anything left on the plane!!! not one person working for easyjet has tried to take my name or trace my passport, despite the fact that i know exactly where i left it. this has been terribly upsetting, and now am going to back to the airport the next day in an attempt to get find someone again who can help me... i am only here for one day so this is incredibly stressful and maybe the stress would have been a little less had easyjet even had an emergency help number????

does anyone know anything else i can do???

I%26#39;m sorry for your problem but you must understand that there is no-one who can help you at Brussels Airport, since you didn%26#39;t actually lose the passport at the airport, but on the plane, which could be anywhere by now but was probably cleaned at Gatwick or Luton. You absolutely have to contact the airline, if you know someone in the UK get them to phone Easyjet on 0871 244 2366 (although this may simply refer them to an expensive 0905 number) or 01582700036; like many no-frills airlines, Easyjet is renowned for bad customer service if anything goes wrong.

Also warn whichever emergency contact points you put in your passport, so that they can inform you as soon as anyone phones them.

Apart from that, I%26#39;m sure the NZ Embassy here would help you with an emergency passport.

I am having a similar problem with Easyjet- cannot retrieve my lost property. All numbers go straight to answer phone or ring indefinitely. Have spent a small fortune over the last few days in attempt to speak to anyone in person. I too left the item in the pocket at the back of the seat - which I CANNOT believe do not get cleaned.. given the high level of security at the moment. If you DO manage to find a live number - please forward

My advice is to contact your embassy immediately and start the process for emergency travel docs.

this will e quicker than trying to get a passport back form an airline. If Eaqsyjet manahge to find it all well and good but in all liklihood they wont even look and it will take a long time.

concentrate on the real problem the loos of a passport and it%26#39;s replacement
