From reading the forum, the main recommendations are Chez Leon and Armes des Bruxelles (sp?) but their websites and locations seem a little touristy
Does anyone have suggestions for places that are not as touristy and more authentic?
Many thanks!

chez leon and aux armes de bruxelles are awfully mediocre restaurants and only recommended by tourist books and people from the UK. You may as well eat a kebab as waste your money there. Go to Ixelles and try AU VIEUX BRUXELLES 35 RUE SAINT-BONIFACE TEL.02 503 31 11
way better and does other belgian stuff too

Thank you both! Will definitely give one of these a try!!!

hi.
we had mussels and fries in armes des bruxelles and we loved it.it is very centrally located in a very touristic part of brussels but when we had lunch there maybe we were the only greeks inside a restaurant full of belgians.

Should you go to Waterloo Les Six Colonnes is a superb place for seafood including mussels. Mainly locals, few expats, great service and very reasonable.
