I plan to spend two weeks in Europe, splitting them between London, Paris and Belgium. Would greatly appreciate any expertise in how to split those weeks better.
Thanks

If you stay in Belgium, Brugge is a %26#39;must-do%26#39; You could book a hotel there, but most tourists book accomodation in Brussels. We%26#39;ve got prety good railroad connections, so you can easily take day-trips across the country. Antwerp and Ghent are good if you like to visit some city%26#39;s. I also recommend you visit the french speaking part of the country. Most tourists don%26#39;t, and I believe it%26#39;s a pitty because it%26#39;s a whole different landscape. You could take a train to %26#39;Dinant%26#39;, a nice town (I should say city, but not to your standards!) Lovely church, ancient fortress on top of the hill, and you could take a charming boat-trip. Totally different than the dutch speeking part. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you very much for your kind suggestions.
Another small question.
Is it very common to pay with credit cards in Belgium? Let%26#39;s say for tours in Brugges or Ghent, or just in a taxi. I love plastic, it makes me feel safe.
Thank you again.

We recently got back from Belgium - we had 1 week and spent 4 nights in Brussels and 3 nights in Bruges. It was a nice trip and we thoroughly enjoyed both places. We%26#39;d planned a couple day trips as well, but weather was somewhat uncooperative, but such is life.
I can%26#39;t help you with the credit card question though - we like to use cash on trips because then there isn%26#39;t any question about whether someplace takes cards and when we get home we don%26#39;t have a big credit card bill (purely phsycological for the second reason).

Apart from in hotels and restaurants, it is not common to pay with credit cards in Belgium, it is mostly foreigners that do it as locals use debit cards instead (Bancontact/Mister Cash). Bear in mind also that we have credit cards with pin numbers rather than signatures.
I don%26#39;t know about taxis but presume only airport taxis are likely to be concerned as you certainly can%26#39;t use credit cards for small payments.
