Liverpool to Bruges by Eurostar?

Hi everyone can someone tell me how we can get from Liverpool to Bruges with eurostar?

|||

Eurostar only goes from London to Brussels (or Paris), so first you get yourselves from Liverpool to London St. Pancras, then you take the Eurostar to Brussels (Bruxelles-Midi), then you change to a local train to Bruges, which takes another hour on trains going to the coast (Oostende or Knokke/Blankenberge). You can get timetable (but not cost) for the whole journey from reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en.

Your Eurostar ticket will automatically include onward travel to %26quot;Any Belgian Station%26quot;, so you don%26#39;t have to pay for the Brussels-Bruges part of the trip, you just show your Eurostar ticket to the inspector on the train. And of course the same applies in reverse, assuming that you buy a return ticket. Eurostar prices are on www.eurostar.com.

You need to go from Lime St to London Euston then tak the underground to St Pancras. Three hour journey plus you need to be at the Eurostar at least 30 minutes before to clear passport control and security.

Another 2hr30mins to get to Brugge. Total travel time at least 6 hours.

Perhaps you are avoiding flying but FlyBe go from Manchester to Brussels International. You can take the train(s) from there to Brugge for 22 euros each return.

2h30 to Brugge? From where? Brussels-Brugge takes 1 hr, not counting waiting time which will depend on time of arrival and time of next train to Brugge (there are at least 2 an hour). I can%26#39;t believe London-Brussels run has been reduced to 1h30!

Ah my learned friend you are correct and my maths skills have deserted me. 1hr 50 to Brussels then 1hr 12 to Brugge plus waiting time so around 3 to 3 1/2 hours :-)

Hi Buntie, Just to let you know I%26#39;m from Liverpool %26amp; I%26#39;ve just booked flights from Manchester to Brussels, where I%26#39;ll then catch the train which is 1.5 hrs to Bruges apparently.

I exhausted all options (with help from this forum) %26amp; this was definitely the quickest %26amp; easiest.

I%26#39;ve booked through Thomas Cook %26amp; it%26#39;s really cheap £133 each. Flying out at 8 o%26#39;clock in the morning %26amp; the return from Brussels is 19:15 so good times to make the most of our stay I think.

Enjoy your trip

Cheap! jeez i do not pay more than 6 euros each way with Ryanair to fly to Charleroi, then i take the %26quot;special train deal%26quot; 10 euros to anywhere in Belgium %26quot;including%26quot; free bus to/from the Airport, now dat%26#39;s what i call cheap he he.

Ah, I was wondering whether there was some new super-high-speed train that had escaped me!

In other postings:

1.5 hrs from Bxl to Brugge is presumably from BRU Airport, from where it is necessary to take the airport train into Brussels before starting 1 hr journey to Brugge.

And the special (maximum) fare to/from any Belgian airport (or at least CRL or BRU) from/to any Belgian station is not (now) €10 but €11 single, €22 return. In the case of CRL, this includes the bus between the airport and Charleroi-Sud railway station, then train to Brugge or anywhere else in Belgium.
