If you have half day left at Belgium - and you have seen all the usual sights and visited the must-see museums. Which one would you choose?
We are staying near Rogier Place / Central area. Which one is easier to get to?

Easier to get to is the Atomium.
Most interesting place is the Africa museum.

Always difficult to decide for another, but for me : no doubt: Africa museum. Take a taxi if you need. Old fashioned colonial Belgian history.

a bit of help on transportation, definitely worth a visit

For me it would depend on whether, on the day, I felt like going to a museum or a %26quot;sight%26quot;, and also on the weather: if it is raining, definitely the museum, if it is fine, in my case I would probably go to the Atomium as it is more photogenic.
For the atomium you have to take the metro to Heysel, which from Rogier means changing onto line 6 at Simonis. For the Africa Museum, if you are near De Brouckère or Gare centrale you can take the metro from there to Montgomery (if you start from Rogier you%26#39;ll have to change at Arts-Loi), and there follow the signs to the 44 tram, which goes out through the forest which is a nice ride in itself. The museum is about 5 minutes walk from the terminus, walking straight ahead on the main road you see as you come out of the tram terminus. However of course the trip can take a while, I would allow an hour although it might not take quite as long as that.

thnaks for all the advice. i actually managed to get to both.
have to say - Africa Museum was far better. Less crowd. Beautiful park to sit down and have lunch. Really interesting displays. Not that hard to get to. I caught the train/tram at montgomery as suggested. All the connections worked out beautifully and I was back in the centre under an hour. the tram ride was pretty scenic too.
atomium on the other hand - was rather disappointing I found. Big queue to go up and big queue to come down. i didn%26#39;t find the view that spectacular either... big crowd up there and hot.

Glad you liked the museum. I actually learned something too, I really thought it was more complicated to get out there then it is.
As for the Atomium, I think the most interesting part is the outside.

veru true, some of us who live outside Brussels hardly ever use a public transport so that was a useful information.
