What I would do is pack what you need for 3 days in Brussels in 1 case and leave the rest at the airport, for collection before checking in for your Africa flights, see brusselsairport.be/en/services/baggagelockers
This would seriously simplify transfer to and from the airport, whether by taxi or train: there is no airport bus going to the city centre, and in any case your hotel is about 1 minute on foot from Gare centrale - if you arrive during the day, and not on a Sunday, there is an exit from the station that will bring you out right beside it. You can therefore take the train from the station below the airport, for €3 each instead of €40-45 per taxi, and when you arrive, as long as you come out on the %26quot;shopping%26quot; level, below the big flight of stairs up to the ticket office, turn left following the signs %26quot;to the Grand%26#39; Place%26quot; (arrows on floor). Go down the escalator and take the glass door more-or-less straight ahead, this brings you out onto a cobbled way behind the Novotel and you will find your hotel at the end of this, on the right. If you come out of any other exit (there is an escalator that brings you out next to the taxi rank but I have never managed to identify which one is which from the platform level), turn left, and walk around the station until you come to a place where you can turn right (the road in front of the station having been dug up recently), cross the road and continue downhill keeping the Méridien hotel on your right; at the bottom of the hill you will come to the triangular-shaped square called Carrefour de l%26#39;Europe and see your hotel on the right.
