I am so happy our cruise is stopping in Belgium! My husband and I are huge Beligum beer fans! We are doing a tour through Bruges for the day with our cruise but would love suggestions on some must check out beer bars. We have (3) hours on our own. This way I can be sure to print out the information and bring it with us! We leave the end of this week!!! I also would like to know what I can expect on a Sunday.
Thanks!

Hi
Most bars and restaurants are open on Sundays, so you should not have a problem finding some where for a good beer.
Below are a few to start you off.

Cambrinus

Brugs Beertje

Museums are also open as are the shops aimed at tourists (chocolate shops etc). Normal shops tend to be closed on Sundays.
Depends on the time of year you are visiting. The canal boat tours give a good overview of the city.

I love the after church crowd heading to the bar for a few Trappist beers, ordering lunch, smoking cigars and wearing their Sunday best. It gives a different feel to the weekday Brugge bar visits.
One bit of advice, the tourist shops around the Markt sell Belgian beer at an inflated price where as the supermarket in Zuidzandstraat and Langestraat are selling them at around 1 to 1.50 a bottle. The supermarkets will be open for a limited time on Sundays.
