day trips from Brussels

We will be staying in Brussels for a couple of weeks. What are recommended day trips from there?

Bruges is a fabulous day trip, and you can get much information by reading the current threads, but suggest a question about day trips from Brussels is best posted in the Brussels forum. There are probably some already-existing threads. Other possibilities include Ghent and Antwerp, certainly, and even Paris can be done via Thalys train. Brussels has many rail connections.

My town, The Hague, Netherlands is worthwhile seeing, only 2 hours by train. And nearby Delft, and www.kinderdijk.nl near Rotterdam

The trains are efficient and inexpensive.

For something different how about the caves at Han-Sur-Lesse %26quot;best caves in europe%26quot;,the village itself is very touristy but the caves are impressive and its pretty countryside, the only hassle is having to change to a bus for the last 10 miles but the stop is just outside the train station at Jamelle.

All in all its a nice relaxing cheap day out.
