Staying in Herstal

Hi,

We are off to the Belgium grand prix next weekend and are going to be staying in Herstal which I understand is a little bit outside Liege.

I have been trying to find a bit of information about Herstal but there isn%26#39;t much that I can find. We are staying at the Best Western. Are there any restaurants/pub/bars around where we can go to in the evenings, that are within walking distance of the hotel or that we can get to by public transport? Also how far is Herstal from the centre of Liege? Can we get there by public transport? What is the best way and how long would it take.

I don%26#39;t know Herstal but first of all there is a train from Liège on the line that goes to Liers (12 mins from Liège to Herstal, roughly 2 an hour, and the last train tonight is at 23:44, on a weekday at 00:28), and from the map your hotel isn%26#39;t far from the station; and secondly, TEC buses 5 and 6 leave from the Léopold bus station near Place St. Lambert, see

The Best Western%26#39;s website says it is situated in a peaceful green area which does not bode well for cafés etc. but there must be places around the station. This one, on the other hand, is further away, you can click on %26quot;contact%26quot; for map: http://www.legrandcafe-herstal.be/
