Hi
We (me, partner %26amp; 4 kids) have decided to do a road trip around parts of europe (belguim, lux, germany, austria, italy, switzerland %26amp; france) in the summer of next year.
We will be camping with a trailer tent for between 4 and 6 weeks. This is something we have always fancied doing but only really ventured to france for camping before.
I%26#39;ve been looking online for campsites further a field %26amp; have only really found quite expensive ones with pools %26amp; bars etc.
We are looking to mostly use the quieter cheaper sites %26amp; then have 2 longer stays at the above mentioned.
We haven%26#39;t really planned much at all apart from a few places we would like to visit along the way.
Could anyone advise on how to find the simpler/cheaper campsites?
%26amp; also any advice for first time road trippers would be most welcome
I posted on Belgium site as this is where we would be starting (newbie, so please let me know if i should be posting elsewhere)
thanks in advance
claire

This site distinguishes between %26quot;ordinary%26quot; and %26quot;serviced%26quot; sites, but unfortunately it isn%26#39;t possible to search by type of site (in the search box you have to replace %26quot;search%26quot; with the name of a place):
www.campingbelgique.be/index2.php…
You may be able to identify what you want by price, for instance looking at Bouillon you get 4 pages of sites, ranging in price from €9 to €23.
The same applies with Eurocampings but this is easier to search by map and it has a star rating system: eurocampings.co.uk/en/…
I know a lot of British tourists with motorhomes look for %26quot;aires de service/ de stationnement%26quot; (in Germany, Stellplatze) rather than campsites, so try http://www.wildcamping.co.uk/forums/belgium/.
