Sundays in Bruges

I read in 2006 post that a lot of things, shops, etc. were closed to the public in Bruges on Sundays. Is that still true? Like...museums, the Belfry Tower, churches, shops, restaurants.

Also, can you tell me where are the best places to eat that are not too expensive. We%26#39;ll be there just for a few hrs. but want to sample the waffles and fries.

Shops yes (except tourist shops), restaurants no (or rather, a few don%26#39;t open Sunday lunchtimes but there are plenty that do), museums no (closing day is generally Mondays), churches may not be accessible on Sundays because of services. Anything and everything aimed at tourists will be open, e.g. boat rides (in season).

Thanks alot. that helps in deciding what we will do there.
