Best train from Amsterdam to Ghent in September

What is the best train to take, Thalys or Rail Europe? I see that on a previous posting, it was stated that Thalys is more expensive and not necessarily faster. But that RailEurope is not actually a railroad company.

There is an hourly train to Antwerp from Amsterdam which will take 2 hours. In Antwerp you will have to connect with another train to Ghent, this will take about 50 minutes. You can just show up at the Amsterdam station and buy your ticket then.

My experience with Thalys is that it%26#39;s usually late and you have to book a seat for it. And even though you take the Thalys, you will still have to change trains to get to Ghent.

It%26#39;s about 30 euros for the ticket between Amsterdam and Antwerp, and from Antwerp to Ghent it will cost you about 9 euros.
