I will be in Amsterdam and need to be on an 11:05 am flight BRU-ORD on a Monday. It looks like the earliest train will get me to BRU (connecting at Midi) by 9:35. Sounds awful tight to me but I have never flown through BRU. Think it is sufficient time (going night before is not an option)?
Thanks

if you get to Midi at 9.35 and need to take a train to Zaventem, then you are unlikely to make the connection.

If I understand correctly you will be arriving at the airport itself at 9.35, 1 1/2 hrs before your flight departs. BRU recommends coming THREE HOURS before long-haul flights, especially to the U.S. If you are flying business class, at least you won%26#39;t have the line for check-in (or, if you have already checked in online, baggage drop-off). If not, please note that after check-in, I have recently endured a 10-minute line at the entrance to Terminal A/T (boarding card control), which I believe is where U.S. flights now depart from - with passport control before the gates concerned - and a 30-minute line at security. Plus, it%26#39;s a long, long walk from check-in to gate, even with moving walkways, escalators etc..
I would suggest you phone your airline at BRU and ask their advice. Here are their numbers (add 32 for BE and drop first 0 if phoning from outside BE): airwise.com/airports/europe/BRU/BRUarl.html

It%26#39;s true that flying to the US means there are tighter security controls which take quite a bit of time. It%26#39;s best to get to the airport at least 2 hours prior to the flight, preferably 3 hours for US flights.
On weekdays, there is a train that leaves Amsterdam at 5.29 AM and you%26#39;ll arrive in Brussels Central at 8.38 AM. There is a connecting train to Zaventem airport at 8.52 AM and you%26#39;ll get to the airport at 9.08 AM. This means you%26#39;ll get to the airport 2 hours prior and even though it%26#39;s still tight, but it might be a better chance.
As qaminari proposed, it might be a good idea to call your airline and check with them when they%26#39;re closing the check-in.
Have a good trip!

I may be reading the timetables all wrong, but on the Belgian railway timetable it looks like there might be an IC train that leaves Amsterdam at something like 3:45 a.m. and would get you to the airport at 8:08 a.m.
Hopefully you can check that out to see if it%26#39;s accurate.
Your connection sounds not doable to me.

3.45 from Ams centraal with a change in Rotterdam, arrives at Brussels centraal at 7.39, connectionn to Zaventem at 8.01, arrives at Zaventem at 8.26.
