I am staying two days in Brussels and the third

day I have to be at Antwerp some time in the evening I would like to use that day to go to Ghent, would it

be too much to go to Ghent early in the morning by train, come back in the afternoon to catch the train to Antwerp. Thank you

It%26#39;s only 30 minutes from Brussels to Ghent although you then have to allow another 10 by tram to the centre; but you don%26#39;t have to come back to Brussels to continue to Antwerp, there are frrequent direct trains from Ghent which take less than an hour (and if you have luggage you can leave it at the station in Ghent). When you leave Brussels, ask for a ticket to Antwerp VIA Ghent, this allows you to break your journey in Ghent for up to 24 hours, and costs €16.70; otherwise it costs €8.10 from Brussels to Ghent, so €16.20 return (on a weekday), and €6.60 from Brussels to Antwerp. For timetables see http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en using Bruxelles-central, or whichever station you are leaving from, Gent St. Pieters and Antwerpen Centraal.
