Go for it! You won%26#39;t regret it!!

I am doing this too.

you%26#39;ll see the explanation of how to pick up a train, all over this forum.

you basically just show up at the station, and purchase your ticket.. it%26#39;s a rather simple process, so i am led to believe.. it%26#39;s about an hour trip.

Most people say to take a canal ride around the city to get your bearings, then you can traverse the whole place on foot, to see the entire town within that day.. an excelletn day trip.

am about to watch the movie %26#39;In Bruges%26#39; , to get a more picturesque idea.

as mention above, just go to the station and buy your ticket, it%26#39;s a 1-hour trip. Well worth it, lots of places and buildings to see.

A boat trip on the canals will be fine, as will sitting at opne of the numerous terraces for beer%26amp; chips or else.

Maybe you will consider making half-day Brugges, and Antwerp the other half day, or even Louvain it is a great city to visit. Can easiliy be arranged with tickets at the station.

Brugges is charming! The canals are delightful, the vine covered buildings, the small narrow streets and interesting shops, will provide you your favorite day!! Brugges is also the lace capital if Europe.

Find a quaint cafe and enjoy your surroundings.

If you are interested in bike tours, Pink Elephant Tours does a great one of Bruges and Den Haan. The tour takes about 2.5-3 hours, so you could easily do the tour and see some other sites in Bruges.

thank you so much you make it sound so beautiful . will definitly go for ot!!

i did it two years ago. Definitely well worth it! Nice easy train ride and Brugge is lovely. I personally felt most of one day was enough in Brugge and was glad I didn%26#39;t spend any nights there but it%26#39;s still well worth the trip for the day.

I suggest you glance at the report posted by saintba on 8-17. He stayed 3 days and it is a rather long report, but it has some good suggestions that I think will be helpful for those of us that will take a day trip to Brugge from Brussels.

I have made a not of some of the places he recommends, and we%26#39;ll only spend a day there.
