Diegem and Brussels Restaurant Recommendations Needed

Greetings! I need to plan a 3 dinners for large groups the third week of Sept:

9/23 Diegem (20-25 people)

9/24 Brussels (20-25 people)

9/25 Brussels (10-15?)

This is for a group of 20-25 consultants coming for Asia, US, UK, and other parts of Europe for Brussels for a training session so a place with good atomosphere but not too expensive.

The first night is dinner in Diegem to avoid lots of taxis as all are staying at hotels near the airport.

The second night I would like something with good Belgian food and atomosphere - not too $- ideally easy to get to by taxi in Brussels

The third night perhaps something around Grand Place with good atomosphere

Thank you!

1) The fact that they are all staying at hotels near the airport does not necessarily mean that the hotels are all close to each other! If they are staying at different ones, some of which may be in Zaventem, it might be better to meet at the airport itself, so that they can each use the shuttle bus from their hotel. There is a nice restaurant called the Pilot Club on the Promenade level (http://www.deltaweb.be/restaurant-The-Pilot-Club+7154+e) although it isn%26#39;t cheap.

Otherwise you might want to choose one of the hotels that has a restaurant and is easy to get to from the others, or pick something from tripadvisor.com/Restaurants-g227587-Diegem_F…

2) and 3) Perhaps the Amadeus tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g188644-… for the larger group, although not specifically Belgian cuisine (this place is excellent for large groups and as it%26#39;s all-you-can-eat bill is the same, barring drinks, for large eaters and small)

and maybe In t%26#39; Spinnekopke or La Villette for the smaller group.

Or La Roue d%26#39;Or, also for the smaller group: www.resto.be/ware/details.jsp…

While a drink in the Grand%26#39; Place is worth the high prices, I would advise you to STAY AWAY from the restaurants in the rue des Bouchers, petite rue des Bouchers, rue Grétry (Ilôt Sacré) except for Chez Léon - which might suit you if everybody wants mussels - and Aux Armes de Bruxelles - which is probably too expensive anyway. The restaurants in the nearby Galeries St. Hubert, such as La Taverne du Passage, are good but too small for your group.

I presume you know that a taxi to/from Brussels from/to Diegem or the airport would cost around €40 (it costs less in one direction than the other, for perfectly legitimate reasons to do with the split between the Flanders and Brussels region, but this is a rough average)! Of course this is not so bad when shared between several people, but the train from the airport costs €3 per person single and serves Gare du Nord, Gare centrale and Gare du Midi. From Gare centrale it is just 5 minutes%26#39; walk to the Grand%26#39; Place.

Hi,

Thanks for the great information! We have people staying at IBIS, Crowne Plaza, HI Express and regular Holiday Inn all by the airport so I think I will book Testa Rossi in Diegem for the first night, Amadeus for the 2nd night and then I%26#39;ll look at one of the others you recommend for the 3rd night - something more in the center of Brussels with mussels and traditional fare.
