Take the train (book tickets on www.eurostar.com) from St Pancras station in London, and arrive in Brussels less than 3 hours later.
Look at the list of hotels on here, and select a few that suit your budget and any other requirements, and then check if their location is convenient. Book the hotel by phone or email.
The Grande Place is central and a lovely square surrounded by narrow lanes.

If you are nervous about booking everything yourself, I would strongly advise you to go to a travel agent and look for a city breaks brochure! Even if you don%26#39;t use it to book, it should contain details of hotels that will give you an idea of what you want or don%26#39;t want.

Thanks...would like to go to one of the Christmas Markets in the Town Square but would like to find out through who everyone booked with. Will alos consult Lonely Planet guide for eating out in the evening unless you have any suggestions?
Kind Regards

Hi,
As said, you can book through any agent, ormost UK newspapers have readers offers - the Independent, Guardian, Yorkshire Post, etc, etc.
I simply booked seats on the Eurostar web site, and a room at the Ibis Grande Place hotel. Takes about 10 minutes and you are sorted.

Not all the other people in this forum will be from the UK so who they booked with is unlikely to help you!! Since the only train you can take from London is Eurostar, those who come from there by train will almost certainly have booked with - Eurostar! However as most of the people who use this site are independent travellers, I guess most of them will have booked their hotel either directly or through a hotel-booking website.
As for %26quot;one of the Christmas Markets in the Town Square%26quot;, there is only one in the city centre, which is not held in the Grand%26#39; Place but around St. Catherine - although the stalls do extend to the Bourse (stock exchange), which is not far from the Grand%26#39; Place. In the GP itself you have Christmas decorations, including the Christmas tree (from Wallonia) and nativity scene with live animals, and a sound-and-light show.

It is very easy to book the train just go to the eurostar site and do it. I have never had a problem just allow a little time to pick up your tickets(if necessary)and get through security etc. about forty minutes.
If you arrive from yorkshire you may get in at Kings cross. Go out of the station turn right cross the road and you are St Ps you can also go underground easily.
