I will be staying in Brussels in March and would also like to go to Amsterdam. How long does it take to get by train to Amsterdam from Brussels?

3 hours, by both InterCity and Thalys until such time as Thalys goes high-speed, when new track comes into service - which is supposed to happen next year, but we don%26#39;t know when. It should eventually drop to about 1h30 as with the Thalys to Paris which takes 1h22.

But I see RonaldoC says 1h53 already from 13 December!

As I just mentioned on another post as from the 13th Decmeber the Thalys will use the new HSL section of track so it will only take 1hr53 to get to Amsterdam from Brussels. At some point it will be able to go faster so cutting the journey down again.
