Best way to travel (Lodon to Burgges then to Paris and back

Hi,

I am planning a visit Burgges from London then to Paris and back to London in 5 days. What is the best option for transportation. Can I take the Eurostar by all one way ticket.

Eurostar operates only between London and Brussels/Paris, between Brussels and Paris you have to take Thalys, see www.thalys.com.

The price of your trip from Brussels to Brugge (or Any other Station in Belgium = ABS) is included in your Eurostar ticket from London to Brussels - but NOT the price of the return trip, as you are not returning from Brussels to London! In fact you require 3 tickets:

1) Eurostar London-Brussels-Brugge: you have to change trains at Bruxelles-Midi to a local train for Brugge, which takes one hour and you can%26#39;t reserve seats so will not have an assigned carriage or seat number for this part of the journey.

2) Thalys Brugge-Brussels-Paris: with Thalys ABS option is not automatically included and is not free, but by selecting this option your ticket will cover the whole journey; there is ONE direct Thalys a day which leaves Brugge at 06:26 (arr. Paris-Nord 09:05), at least on a weekday, at other times you would change trains at Bruxelles-Midi from which there are trains roughly every 30 minutes.

3) Eurostar Paris-London.

As you are starting your trip from London, I imagine it would be more convenient to purchase from a seller who can deliver the tickets there, if not to Singapore. For that you may need to use one of the agencies like Rail Europe, which sell tickets primarily on these premium (i.e. expensive) trains. However, you can also try www.eurostar.com. Both Eurostar and Thalys require advance reservations, although these can be bought up until about the day before, but their price structure is similar to airlines, so at that stage only the highest fares are available.

Hi quminari,

Thank you for your prompt reply. Much appreciated.

I will check out both Eurostar as well as Thalys website for train schedule.

Cheers

For schedules it could be better to use reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en, which covers all trains in UK, Belgium and France as well as the rest of Europe.

This won%26#39;t give you prices, or an explanation of Eurostar/Thalys fare structure, but you can look those up once you know which trains you want to catch.
