train from brussel to gent?

Hello,

Can someone help me please..How to get from Brussel airport to Gent. What is the easiest way, and how much ticket costs?

By train from below the airport, changing at Brussels Nord, Central or Midi (Central is reputed to be the easiest, as it%26#39;s the smallest of Brussels%26#39; stations), cost is €9.20. Airport train takes 20 minutes to Brussels then it%26#39;s 30 minute to Gent-Sint-Pieters on trains with final destination Oostende or Knokke/Blankenberge.

Dont really want to correct a native but Im planning for the same trip and i find direct trains to Gent every half hour!

ok thanks both:)

Yes sorry, you are quite right (except about me being a native!): I was thinking about Brugge as it is on the same line - but doesn%26#39;t benefit from the same direct trains. There are 2 types of direct IR train to Ghent from BRU, both stopping at Bxl Nord, Central and Midi on the way. However, the one going to De Panne has Gent as its next stop after Midi, while the other stops at about 15 stations, where it may in any case be preferable to change to the faster IC train for Gent-Brugge-Oostende or Knokke/Blankenberge.

but IC is more expansive,or not?...And do I have to buy ticket inside the train or on automat?
