Just wondering if anyone can help with a logistical problem. My wife and I will be travelling to Bruges, from Amsterdam in Jan next year on a Monday. My wife%26#39;s parents and sister are heading over to stay with us for 4 days, they will be on the train from London. My mum will be flying in from Edinburgh (to Brussels), where she is spending Xmas with her sister.
Mum is the only one on her own and so we would like to find the simplest way to have the 3 parties meet up (Brussels railway station?). Is there a simple landmark that is easily reached from the airport, with us travelling in by train to meet her? I am not sure how easy it is to reach the airport, so we could always go out and pick her up but I think her flight gets in a little before we all arrive on trains. Any thoughts or ideas would be most welcome.

Those coming from London on Eurostar will arrive at Bruxelles-Midi, and train terminates there. If your mother is arriving at Brussels Airport (BRU), the airport train calls at Nord, Central and Midi; and whether you are coming from Amsterdam or Brugge, you can also stop at any of these 3 so can also get off at Midi. Therefore you could meet at/near Bruxelles-Midi, e.g. at the café opposite the Eurostar terminal (can%26#39;t remember its name but it has a wooden zebra outside), or the Haagen-Dasz is comfortable and relatively quiet being a bit out of the way to the right of the exit into rue de France (on the Eurostar side of the station); or there are several cafés and restaurants in the rue de France itself, e.g. Midi Station, see http://www.midistation.eu/visite_en.html
You would just exit the station by the exit nearest the Eurostar terminal, into a pedestrianized part of rue de France, and instead of turning right for taxis, turn left. The %26quot;Midi Station%26quot; is just a short way up on the right-hand side, it has a terrace café outside (partly protected by a sort of porch) and functions all day as café, restaurant and bar.

Thanks qaminari, just the info I was after.
Will it be easy for my mum to get from the airport to the train there and into town? Sorry for my lack of knowledge with your airport and train system.
What is the Haagen-Dasz?

Yes it%26#39;s easy, the station is on the -1 level of the airport, and there is a ticket office there as well as machines: she will need euros of course. The ticket costs €3 to any station in Brussels, train takes about 20 minutes, stopping first at Nord then at Central (underground) then at Midi - where it generally terminates - so she shouldn%26#39;t have any problem identifying Midi.
When she gets off she would just go down the steps to the main concourse, where I think the easiest %26quot;landmark%26quot; to identify is probably the Eurostar terminal covering platforms 1 and 2.
