Somewhere to eat???

We are going on one of the P %26amp; O mini cruises in late December to Bruges.

We have been before but have struggled to find somewhere to eat because we have fussy children.

Can someone suggest a good restaurant which serves chicken (this seems to be the only thing eaten by the kids). I can find places which serve meat but not just plain chicken with no sauces on.

Have had a look at the menu on In%26#39;t Nieuw Museum website, but they do not serve chicken.

Or even a good pizza restaurant - yes they will actually eat pizza!!

If not, they will just have to eat chips because they are gorgeous.

Thanks

Pieter Pourbus, great family run restaurant who are very accomadating for children.

The kids menu is on the website, when we went they did a plain grilled staek for our 7 year old which was fabulous.

Or,

If you%26#39;re just there for the day maybe consider the food stalls around the xmas markets on the Markt and Simon Stelvin squares.

While I recently reviewed Poules Moules as just being %26quot;ok%26quot; (others like it more), they do have both roasted chicken and a plain chicken filet. The latter is definitely plain, since they charge you extra if you want sauce on it.

For lunch, there is a tiny takeout-only place, with a name like %26quot;Max%26#39;s II%26quot;. Go 1 block north of the Markt on Vlamingstraat and it will be on your right before you get to the little plaza on kraanplein (where you can take your food and sit on a bench). They make baguette sandwiches to order, and also have plain boiled pasta which they serve in what are traditionally Chinese food takeout containers. The sandwiches were good (nice baguette)and also the cheapest meal we found in Bruges.

De Gouden Meermin on the main square. It is %26quot;The Golden Mermaid%26quot; in English. They have chicken dishes. The fish is amazing and I have never witnessed that many mussels in a pot in my life. I can%26#39;t find a web site, but maybe someone on here knows it that is local.

What is the P * O mini Cruise - I noticed this in another forum?

Thanks.

The P and O cruises are run all year round, but in December they do 2 4 1 deals. We usually go somewhere the weekend before Christmas and you get to see a city for a few hours. Have a look on the P and O website under mini cruises.
