Academie Hotel and Smoking

we%26#39;re going to be staying at the Academie hotel in December. The hotel is non smoking but the web states that all rooms have a patio. Cananyone tell me if ALL rooms have one, and if you%26#39;re able to smoke on them?

Where do you see that all rooms have a patio?! The hotel has ONE patio, elsewhere called a %26quot;stylish garden terrace%26quot; and pictured here http://www.hotelacademie.be/asp/asp/pagina.asp?level1=40%26amp;level2=4), I don%26#39;t see how 82 rooms on different floors could all have a patio, and there is no sign in the photos of any balconies: www.hotelacademie.be/asp/asp/pagina.asp…

Some - not the ground floor rooms - have a tiny balcony thing, which I think you could smoke on. Ask for one of those rooms (in advance when you book if possible). When we stayed (a couple of years back) the room we had, which didn%26#39;t have a balcony, smelt of smoke anyway. Your only problem might be getting an ashtray - they had them in the bar area then, but I think some places rules have tightened up. By law places which don%26#39;t serve food cooked on the premises are allowed to have smokers indoors, but it%26#39;s up to the proprieters.

I think the new rules came into effect in January 2008 - you will not be able to smoke inside of the hotel, and I would not advertise that you want to smoke on the balcony either. Just do it discretely and there is unlikely to be a problem.
