Antwerp / Ghent with kids

Hi. Am travelling to Ghent and Antwerp with my wife and kids (9 and 5) at the end of October. We are driving. Is it best to spend 2 nights in Antwerp and 1 in Ghent or vice versa? What are the best things to do for kids in each location? Finaly, re Antwerp, is it best to stay in the Old Town or near the Zoo? I need a hotel with parking and am considering the Hilton and Blu Astrid at present. The former sounds a bit bland and is v expensive. The latter looks to be located in a bit of a grotty area. Any suggestions for a child friendly place? For Ghent we are staying in the SHeraton unless someone can tell me somewhere better! Many thanks!

the best hotel for you in gent is the marriott. has it%26#39;s own parking (payable) underneath and is very central - the hotel is also very comfortable, has a good restaurant and can accommodate children

the hilton antwerp is in the %26quot;old town%26quot; on groenplaats and is the best location for sightseeing. the radisson blu astrid is easier to get to and has parking underneath. the area is not grotty now it has been renovated. the hilton is bland but then all hilton%26#39;s are! rooms are a decent size and the restaurant is good - staff are professional and there are enough of them - the same cannot be said of the radisson
