TV info

Hey all

I%26#39;m moving to Belgium next year and need to know if our TV will be compatible.

Can anyone point me to a site that details all this info (types of intput / PAL or NTSC / Voltage / etc.)?

Thanks

The Q%26amp;A section of www.xpats.com will probably be more use to you - for this and any other questions you may have.

Voltage in Europe is 230V /50Hz, the same as RSA

…telenet.be/worldstandards/…voltage

PAL/NTSC etc are analogue encoding broadcasting standards and as most of the analogue signals have or are in the process of being turned off in Europe infavour of digital broadcasts which require either a STB (Set Top Box) or an inbuilt decoder within the TV you really do not need to worry about this. I can%26#39;t say exactly for Gent but I think most people have cable tv and again this would connect via an STB and a SCART LEAD or in the case of HDTV an HDMI CABLE. You can also get tv across a DSL connection on a phone line.

If you have an old CRT tv then I would seriously consider leaving it in SA unless you are sentimentally atached to it or really don%26#39;t want to buy a flat screen. It%26#39;s worth about 50euros if that no matter what you paid for it.
