Hi to all the travel experts out there!
I%26#39;m hoping you can give me a few pointers to make our Bruges Holiday a successful one for the whole family. We have two kids aged 4 and 2 and will be staying in Bruges for the first week in December.
Can you recommend:
1) Family friendly restaurants
2) Any good day trips
3) Any playareas / parks etc. for the kids
I think it will be very cold while we are there - does it usually rain as well?
Thanks,
Skin.

Try the coast for a day trip. Zeebrugge is only afew miles away. But expect it to be bracing in December. There%26#39;s a tram that runs the length of the coast.
The weather is pretty much the same as the UK or Ireland. Maybe a little drier and colder.
Sorry, can%26#39;t help with family-friendly places. Bruges is a medieval city - more monasteries, churches and convents than play parks. Although teh main square should be colourful.

You might try this place on a rainy day

Hi
There are a couple of nice children%26#39;s play areas in the following parks:
Graaf Visartpark (B6 on map below)
Koningin Astridpark (G10 on map below)
Here is a map of the city that you may find useful:

Below are a couple of links with things for children, unfortunately the Boudewijn Seapark is closed through the winter, but certainly worth a visit if you come in the summer.

Will you have a car?
Dependent on the weather may be worth hiring bikes, they have child seats, or even carriages that go behind bikes for the little ones. It is very flat around, so not too much effort to cycle.

Another thing worth doing in December, particularly with children, is the ice %26amp; snow festival in front of the station. It isn%26#39;t cheap but is spectacular. Make sure you wrap up well.
