Bruges New Year

Could anyone advise what New Year%26#39;s eve is like.

Hi

Have a look at Danny%26#39;s input on the post below.

In previous years there is the Christmas Market and Ice Skating rink in the Markt square, which is lively.

The restaurants mostly have fixed menus (multiple courses) and will need a reservation. The menus get published late November, early December.

As to the activity in the %26#39;t Zand that Danny refers to, this is the News Years version of Vlaanderzingt (Flanders Sings)

It is a giant sing song that starts about 22:30 and goes on to about 01:00.

There are bars so you can get a drink if you want. Last year there were apparently about 12,000 - 15,000 people there.

Below is a link to the songs from the Summer version, New Years will be similar, a mixture of tunes that you will know with those that you probably won%26#39;t. (many have little dances or activities - you soon pick them up!)

The words are published in the local press, so no need to learn them.

The atmosphere is very friendly and it is a great fun.
