Train from Bruges to Amsterdam

How much will the train cost from Bruges to Amsterdam (2nd class, cheapest possible)? I just bought my tickets from Paris to Bruges for tomorrow morning on the Thalys and paid €112. This seems like a lot. We are leaving Bruges 10/8 for Amsterdam. Thanks!

It%26#39;s a lot because you have no choice but to take the expensive (unless running a promotional offer!) Thalys between Paris and Brussels. Between Brugge and Antwerp on the other hand, you have no choice but normal Belgian Railways train (IC = InterCity) and between Antwerp and Amsterdam you have a choice between IC and Thalys.

Price for the IC option from Brugge to Amsterdam - changing in Antwerp of course) has been given in a previous question, from memory it is about €45. And being IC, this does not require booking in advance, and neither is it cheaper when purchased in advance, just buy the ticket from Brugge station on day of travel or whenever convenient.

Your Thalys train cost so much because you didn%26#39;t book it in advance. Those tickets are cheaper the farther out they are bought. Assuming you don%26#39;t want to take the Thalys from Antwerp to Amsterdam, as you would run into the same thing, it is a fixed cost and you don%26#39;t need to buy in advance.

I paid 44 euros last month on the Intercity 2nd class.

Bought a ticket on the spot.
