Could someone please tell me how much a taxi might cost from the above airport to the centre of town - we haven%26#39;t booked hotel yet but will try for Grand Place area.

From mention of Brussels I presume you mean centre of Brussels, not Charleroi. A taxi from CRL to Brussels will cost about €120.

Take the Tec bus, picks up right outside arrivals a few steps down to the left at Charleroi,runs every 30 mins and takes 18 mins, it drops you off at the side entrance of Charleroi sud (train station), then get a train into Brussels from there.
They run approx every 30 mins and the jourrney takes about 55 mins, then get your taxi from there.
Someone else can tell you which station you want brussels Midi, etc for that hotel.

Oh there is a special ticket 22.00 euro return, which includes the price of your bus to/from Charleroi, you can buy it at the Airport to save you the hassle of buying tickets at the station.
It will not really save you anything but you will not have to go and buy your tickets at the station and you can go straight to the platform.

But if you wanted information on other ways of getting to Brussels, why didn%26#39;t you say so?! You will find all the different means of transport (including Ryanair coach to Brussels%26#39; Gare du Midi) set out on CRL%26#39;s website.
